Plex agents not downloading the artist poster and background images

Hi,
It’s more than a month, the Plex agents are unable to download the artist and background images for my music library. All agents are enabled and my media are named (folders and files) based on the Plex website recommendation.
I spent a lot of time searching the internet and this forum without any good solution to this issue. I hope someone out there will help me to fix this problem.

Thank you.

Thank you for your quick reply,

Unfortunately I see a lot of corruption in Plex database. I didn’t notice anything to raise any question about these corruptions, Plex was functioning as normal except the metadata issue.
You provided me with a link to repair the database, but I don’t know how to browse to this file in Qnap NAS and witch tool should I use to access it.

Thank you.

Hi,

Usual location is as follow:
/share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer/Library/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases

where CACHEDEV1_DATA is the QNAP volume PLEX has been installed to.

I use WinSCP to access QNAP via SSH https://winscp.net/eng/download.php
although any other SSH access tool will do the trick.

You may allow SSH access to QNAP via its Control Panel, under Net Services Telnet/SSH

Maybe the plexteam could update the article to include instructions/or link to QNAS FAQ.

Thank you for the information about the tool, I downloaded the winSCP and went to Plex database. The problem is, there are too many files, I’m not sure to be honest with you witch one to repair, maybe you could lead me to the right file.

Thank you.

com.plexapp.plugins.library.db is the database that is currently inuse.
com.plexapp.plugins.library.db-xxxx-xx-xx are your backups.
Do not simple delete the inuse database and rename the backup to com.plexapp.plugins.library.db.

COPY the backup file then rename to com.plexapp.plugins.library.db.

WOW, your dlna file is huge. Do you use dlna?

Oh, btw, exit plex before you start restoring!!

No I don’t use dlna, I don’t remember when it was built, I have to check if I can get rid of it.

Thank you.

Then I’d say, disable(uncheck) it. Settings>DLNA>Enable the DLNA server

Yes, I just check it the Plex setting and I found DLNA is enabled.

Might as well disable. The dnla database is 4x bigger than your plex database, lol.

Do you mean to delete the dnla database from plex media server ?

No… Just disable it in settings.

I don’t see how to disable it in the dnla setting.

5c9e5e73ee366ff89f2c330835c571b288b452b0_2_690x497

It’s disabled(or how you want to look at it, not enabled)

Yes I see it’s disable, but this is for DLNA server not about its database, that the way I understood it .

Same thing.
My dlna has been disabled the moment I installed pms and logged in a PlexHome.
I can fit my dnla database on one of these suckers…
d4c

But that is neither here nor there. Has no importance on your issue. I just saw how big it was(there’s a joke in there).

But back on topic.
Were you able to restore your plex database?

I download the SQLite tool but I didn’t installed it, I will try this tomorrow and I will let you know if it’s OK.

Thank you.

SQLite tool? For what is that going to be used for? Are you planing on repairing?
Never-mind. Just looking at your screenshot again.
Your plex databases are real old. You may need to do a repair.

Be sure plex is set to backup your databases
Settings>Sceduled Tasks>>Backup database every three days
EDIT: After the restore. No need for plex to backup corrupt databases.
