Plex amp without Plex server

Plexamp should already ignore songs with low ratings iahend shuffling or using a mix / radio. I believe that’s true for songs rated with :star: or :star::star: stars.

That will however not apply if you tell Plexamp to download an entire album/artist/playlist

is it possible that plex creates a playlist with all songs with one star so I don’t download them.
Does radio works with downloaded songs as well because there is an option to prefer downloaded songs.

Also is it possible to deactivate caching at least on a computer because it doesn’t make sense if the computers is connected to the server anyway.

You can create smart playlists from the Advanced Filter in Plex Web – e.g. excluding certain ratings. I believe Plexamp created a bunch of them on its own such as "Fresh  " or “ Tracks”… Those will automatically be updated if new songs are added. And yes: you can tell Plex to download one of those – up to the famous 24 hours limit.

As for caching:
Keep in mind… a network isn’t a linear/synchronous thing… apps will always load chunks of data, not x bits of data as your client is playing them in that very second.
That being said… check out the Plexamp settings → Advanced > Caching to optimize to your liking.

I have chosen just the next track.
24 hours is fine.
Will plex amp download also songs what i did not heard so far.

Maybe you two want to switch to German?
…or us three, actually.

Yes, there is a “unplayed” filter available, so you can build your self a smart playlist with all unplayed tracks.

One last thing. I only can make the playlist with the admin.
I want that for the second user

Each user can/has to make his/her own playlists.

Use the “Switch User” menu item to “become” your other user(s).
(only possible if this user is a “managed” user)

Thank you for your help.
i made a smart playlist with only filters the one star rating out. Plexamp is worth the price of the plex pass alone
