So the weirdest thing. This worked flawlessly and then I had to replace some drives. I have it setup to be able to lose 3 drives withOUT losing any data.
Moving forward, replaced 3 drives, and had DTI data recovery image 4 drives with 100% success as only the PCB and ROM chip had to be transferred.
Placed all new 7 drives in transferred over everything, StableBit re-measured and duplicated everything, Almost all was back to normal except discovered the server backup was NOT backing up despite it being enabled every 3 days…. So I am supper annoyed as I have to reconfigure the collections, etc… Music and AudioBooks I have not even begun to dabble into what needs to be done to it… but now lets get to the music-podcasts library
M4A podcasts I acquire automatically and edit individually by the month then move to Plex. One particular I move every other day. The audio files play on plex web without fail. BUT do NOT play on Plex Amp, nor the Android TV (I play it while cooking). Its infuriating as I listen to it when acquiring newer content daily. My wife has a group we listen to weekly in car drive 3 hours every weekend.
Steps taken already:
- Updated Plex
I had initially an older version of Plex I had ZERO issues with an had zero reasons to update. mind you the 2 versions after it were problematic so I just stuck with it. However now I have the latest. Except this most recent newest one I just seen today appear. - Uninstalled and Reinstalled plex (including registry)
- Uninstalled and Reinstalled plexamp (including data and cache)
- Moved media outside the folder and back in (plex dance) - with deleting and empty trash feature, scan, etc…
- Analyzed a million times (exaggeration but yes at least 5-6x+)
- Re-downloaded media and re-edited the metadata (1 week only not the entire podcast show and years of files)
Some things to know:
- The images of the podcast months and artist are also not appearing anymore either
- The files are intact, and the directory has never changed.
- Sorted by artist>Month+Year (I intend on moving it to artist>year>month)
This WAS working since 2023 when I started listening. Even when I changed the folder format from month to month year. This has been an issue since mid February.
The files DO play from any computer (PC) web browser without fail.

I am a ripper and have been since 1996. So I CAN convert would rather not too. There is just sooooooooo many.
A side note I also have a problem with all podcasts for the Android Phone and TV. There is 4 of them in total. One shows the cover art without issue. The other 3 are missing their cover art despite it existing ON the local drive. One Podcast title will NOT delete despite all my efforts.
