My question is broad. I have been trying to use Plex and Alexa as I am using the Alexa speakers (and other connectivity to drive my entertainment center). The Plex Skill on Alexa is not useful. The feedback on it is bad too. Looking at the feedback on the skill in the Alexa app it regularly receives one star with comments like “Terrible, Unusable.”
I love Plex so it pains me to agree with the commenters. I don’t know who is developing the Plex skill - Amazon or Plex. But either way, I would really love to know if any one is successfully using Plex with their echo units in their house?
Even if it is DNLA interface and is not as good as Plex, does anyone have a suggestion for making this work. Ideally, for me, it would be like Spotify. Spotify simply lets you choose the Alexa group you want to hear the music or podcast on and away you go. You can even sidestep talking to Alexa which I prefer.
