I am using filebot to rename my movies for plex. I am renaming a movie what do I put into the so plex will see it? I would like to put in actors! JTM
Plex isn’t picking up information in square brackets. Even if you add the data otherwise, Plex won’t use information from the file name to set actor names… the file name is mainly used to match an item and obtain the additional information from Plex‘ metadata servers.
Unless it’s an other-video / personal media type library… in which case Plex doesn’t check for online metadata. In that case (or if you’ve configured your library to prefer local/embedded metadata), Plex will look at embedded metadata in certain file types… incl. cast names.
