Plex and rendering music to a UPNP streamer

Hi all, my first post!

I have recently bought a lifetime PLEX pass mainly for movies. Its a superb platform!.
I notice it also finds my 1700+ (FLAC) music/albums on the QNAP NAS (where i have PLEX installed).
I also have a UPNP music streamer but the PLEX app on my phone won’t/can’t find the streamer, what am i missing here???

Plex doesn’t play directly to such devices.
If your device can play to it (e.g. BlueTooth), then you can possibly stream through the Plex app (speaks Plex protocol to the server) , translating to bluetooth out to the device.

That’s a real shame, even a $6 app such as mConnect allows any UPNP player to be chosen as and end point/ player. Would this really be too much to ask of PLEX???!

On many levels PLEX is just like roon (which i already use) … imagine if you could tap into that client base too
Having PLEX as a ‘one stop’ interface for complete home entertainment is a highly appealing proposition - IMHO.

PS - my streamer is a hi-end music streamer/DAC and plays 24/192 FLAC/lossless.

@ChuckPa @Plex Could you please advise will this kind of feature be added or is there a work around?

I can only suggest you make a Feature Suggestion.
Engineering routinely looks in there for new ideas.

If there’s enough interest, they’ll consider it.

Be advised that not even we in support know what is on Engineering’s roadmap until something is ready for testing.
