Thanks for trying that build, oddly that disables the media notification so it should of solved the issue. Will have a dig to see if we have another media notification somewhere.

Can confirm that disabling the media notification fixed it for me, too.

Beta build has fixed for me, at least so far. All notifications are on, and playback has worked consistently for last hour or so. Good work @sixones !

All the fixes I have tried, have only been temporary and then it stops working again.

It’s now been 6 days since I disabled the media notification and I’ve had zero issues with videos stalling.

Still no news ? It’s been more than a month without beeing able to use my Plex Pass at all :confused:

Disabling PiP has stopped working as a work around. Plex on Android 12 needs fixing. This is crazy.

try disabling notifications also

Using the beta build and I had to disable Plex notifications for it to work.

When notification was enabled, videos rarely worked. I only had a video that was playable twice after so many attempts. A pause would break playback.

After the latest Android update yesterday the payback and crash issues are gone.

So there’s a new Samsung update on its way, gives me hope !

Issue still exists after enabling media notifications with the latest update as described above.

Then disabled media notifications and now works like before… So playback bug still present.

Also running S21 Ultra with Android 12 OneUI 4. Was unable to play any video.

Installed the Plex for Android 8.28.0.29997-beta

Then went into the ā€œapp infoā€ for plex via android settings and disabled notifications. This allowed video to play again. (After a force close of the app).

I have not allowed any permissions for Plex. Phone, Storage or Microphone.

If I go back anf enable notifications, this stops the playback from working.

My phone must be cursed : I have updated to G996BXXS3BULC, removed media notifications in Plex, kill the process, restart the phone, burn 2 or 3 witches, but still ā€œSomething went wrongā€ when I try to play something on my TV.
I’m sorry to say that I give it another month, and I’ll quit paying Plex Pass. It’s not a threat or anything near that, just the fact that I won’t be paying anymore for a service I cannot use.

If the issue isn’t happening when you’re just playing on your phone, then you’re clearing running in to a different issue from this.

Try a different TV, or a different phone on your current TV. Or maybe contact support regarding your issue as it may not be the same as the issue presented here.

I’m 99% sure it’s the right problem, as it began to occur from the exact day I had the first S21 update.

Chuck me a log dump and i’ll take a look, though i’m no expert. If you haven’t checked these logs yourself, i’d suggest starting there.
