I noticed this happening since summer but lately has been happening very often, so often that it has made me post this topic. It only happens on Android TV, whether it’s on Nvidia Shield Pro, Xiaomi Box S, Sony Bravia Android Tvs.
Disclaimer: All of my devices support EAC3 including the TV boxes.
The bug: Sometimes when I click to direct play a file with EAC3 audio file in it, plex just keeps loading. I have to click on back and try again, and then it plays the file. Sometimes I have to do this up to 4 times in order to play the intended file.
I managed to replicate this (wasn’t hard, as this happens often). Happened with two files on my last attempt:
TV Shows: 1883 S1 E2 and After Life (Πάρ’το Αλλιώς) S3 E6.
On both I had to press back to exit as they were not playing (just loading, the orange circle) and clicked on Play again and they played fine.
