Trying to play FLAC 44hz stereo music files with the Android TV client on Nvidia Shield Pro 2019. The songs play but are converted to 48hz even though the dashboard says it is direct playing.
What am I missing?

Do you have the sample rate switching option turned on?
I do, and it doesn’t work for me either. No matter the sample rate of the FLAC file, Plex always outputs 48khz
Kodi plays the same file back at the correct sample rate.
This is on the Shield 2017 and 2015 models.
I do have the new audio match setting in the shield on. Still get 48khz no matter what.
There are several threads about this in the forum.
For music, Plex always outputs 48kHz.
This post mentions a workaround by casting from an iPhone: All music plays back at 48khz regardless of quality - #28 by BigBossManNJ
Agreed, there are many threads, but since the ShieldTV was updated to Android 11 and other apps are able to output the correct sample rate, there is no reason Plex can’t do the same now that the capability exists.
