I’m having trouble with video context menus during playback.
I want to switch my video to 2x playback speed
I can tap the the dots
I can tap the “playback options”
But the menu disappears and returns to the playing video
If figured out that I can sometimes flip to the app-switcher and return to my Plex app and “playback options” will be open
Rinse repeat, if I select “playback speed”
The menu again disappears and returns to the playing video
And like before, I can sometimes flip to the app-switcher and return to my Plex app and “playback speed” will be open
It usually takes a few tries to get it right
Pausing the video to enable 2x has no impact on the above hurdles.
I have a galaxy s24+ and my Plex app is 2025.25.0
I uninstalled the app and reinstalled the app, re-logged in and the problem persists, I just reproduced it.

and it’s not dependent on the video
all of my videos seem to do this, so I suspect it’s someone with my phone or the app

I have the same issue - Samsung S22+ with latest software updates. It’s been this way ever since the new experience came out. And is still there on the latest android version of Plex as of this date.
The three dots menu bottom right of the player opens the Settings menu just fine., but if I select Playback options from that menu, the menu disappears, like it is folding to the bottom of the screen.
I can sometimes open the new menu up by swiping up gently from the bottom of the screen, although that interferes with other gestures I have enabled so I have to be very careful to do the swipe up gesture just right -enough to make the menu appear, but not enough to trigger another gesture.
Each submenu of the disappearing Playback Options menu also does this, e.g Playback speed, just as you have said.
It seems to have got slightly easier to do the gentle swipe gesture right to get the menus to appear recently. Not sure whether that is due to changes in my OS or changes in the app.
But it shouldn’t disappear anyway.

That menu does not stay onscreen, but it is active. Try swiping up from the very bottom of the screen.
Swiping up from the very bottom only moves me to the app switcher. This is an android gesture that replaced on screen buttons.
Though where I swipe up does seem to make a difference. If I swipe up from just right of center, I see an image of the app with the context menus still open .. this is how I have been accessing the menu.
I think this is now fixed for me in the latest version of Plex android app, as of today, 1/10/25
Confirmed.. mine is showing the Sept. 29 build, but I no longer have trouble accessing the nested context menus during playback.

Unfortunately the new version has reintroduced some of completely unrelated playback issues (popups that interrupt play for various errors) that happened with earlier versions. But this bug is squashed. Hope that they fix the new issues.
