Plex App crashing whenever resizing or moving app accross monitors. Also theres a gray square

Server Version#:1.41.0.8992
Player Version#:1.101.0.223

Topic really says it all; I have found using DDU to remove my display drivers actually fixed the issue. however after restaring the PC the issue persists. my server is still accessable and useable through the web / phone client just the windows one seems to be having issues. Honestly i’ve never used this site before and im not even sure if this is the right place to post any help would be appreciated.

When going into the event viewer this is what windows says for one of the errors.

To Clarify the only way i can get the current version of the app to work is to run DDU and remove my Nvidia drivers from windows 11 ; then the entire system will work, I can even reinstall my drivers and i can watch via the player as i have many times before all until i reset the system and then it will crash or freeze whenever i try to move the window to the next monitor or even simple dragging the size of it to make it larger or smaller. Full screen also crashes it.

Is there also a crashdump being created? (C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\CrashDumps)

What you could try is replacing the libGLESv2.dll with a code upstream one
The DLL can be found here => Releases · mmozeiko/build-angle · GitHub

Download the x64 version and copy the ingredients of angle-x64\bin\ into the install dir of Plex (C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex). It should ask you if you want to overwrite those files, accept this. (the file libGLESv1_CM.dll is not needed…)

Does that dll swap make a difference?

  • Using the Dlls provided and replacing them as instructed unfortnately resulted in this error.

  • I was able to find a crash dump for plex in the local data as well.
however it does not let me upl;oad them here since its DMP and not “: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, zip, log, txt, gz, tar, srt).”

I also do not know how to read it; trying to open in notepad did not work

this is also the Gray square i am refering to in the text. it is persistantly there i unless i try to watch something ; which then crashes the player nearly immeidiatly as it stops responding before it goes down.

After taking another look i was using the files from the Lib/ not the Bin
After trying this however the same exact error persisted.

After over 12 hours of troubleshooting. updating the program GPU Tweak III solved this issue.
