Plex App Does Not Work on TCL Android TV

I purchased a TCL 43P618 in November of last year. Since then I have been trying to use the Plex app on it, but not once have I been able to open the app.

Every time I try to launch Plex, the app starts to load and then crashes before ever starting up.

I have uninstalled, cleared the download cache, reinstalled, hard-restarted the TV, even reset the TV to factory defaults, etc. several times. Nothing works at all.

If I disconnect the TV from the Internet, the Plex app will load enough to give me an error message that it needs to be connected to the Internet. That’s the only clue I can get that the app is doing anything at all. If the TV is connected to the network, then the app always crashes at the Plex loading screen.

It’s been doing this for 8 months now. Is the Plex app just that bad? Or is it utterly useless for TCL Android TVs?
