The stereo playback of this film (which has AC3 5.1 audio) is only playing music and FX (no dialogue) and I can’t see where/ how to configure it so I can hear a useable stereo mix.
The stereo mix (or stereo down-mix?) plays fine on the iphone app or computer PMS. i.e. I can hear dialogue.
It’s just this Fire stick that it won’t play properly on. Need to instruct it to play different audio or create a stereo downmix but cannot find any Settings that will allow me to do this.
No idea if this would work or related but I seem to remember audio issues I had a long time ago and I played with the Passthrough setting under ‘Advanced’. I think mine was set to disabled, and is now set to HDMI.
Apparently I have to buy a newer Fire TV stick. Mine’s from 2015 so I suppose it’s to be expected.
Hopefully this will also sort out the Resume command not working (movies always play from the start despite everything).
I found a post from Nov. 2019 with the same issue and at the time there was no way to fix your problem with any settings in the Plex app or on the Firestick. You may have to re-encode the audio stream outside of Plex to get it to play correctly.
Thanks. I saw that too. Absolutely no chance I can be bothered to do that! Format admin is literally a waste of the precious time I have left on this earth. I’d rather watch the film on my phone and only watch films with mono or stereo audio on the tv.
When I next get paid and Amazon have a deal I’ll buy a newer Fire Stick and hope that deals with the downmixing for me.
