I’ve just bought the Panasonic Viera TX-55CX800E with the new Firefox OS and would love to be able to use Plex natively on it. I don’t use Plex regularly today but would if this was possible.
Has it been any decision taken on this?

Hi, I’m a Plex Pass owner and I got the Panasonic TX-65CXW804.
I cant wait for a Plex client for Firefox TV. Please!
I just got a new Panasonic Cx7000 and i absolutely love it… i hope it will get the plex treatment very soon, that way it will be perfect
We hope it will too. With a small development team it’s a challenge to balance support of existing clients and adding new clients. Someone set of users is always left with too little blankets.
We’re excited to work on it although finding the time is challenging at the moment.

what are the other methods of getting plex running to panasonic tv pls? i have brand new 4k model. i can use chromecast kind of screen throwing but wanted something natively from the remote…
I have a Panasonic E50 and an ST50 (2012 models). I am running Plex on my iMac. There are a few paths up the mountain. I am using external devices with these TVs. I don’t even try to run NetFlix or Amazon apps on the TV anymore because the experience has been better using the external devices I have in my home which include PS3, PS4, Roku2, Roku Stick and an AppleTV (with PlexConnect) and plugging them into the HDMI. The Plex app and other apps seem to work better on these external devices owing to faster processors, I suspect.
I can use the Viera Connect DLNA app to play content from the Plex server but the UI is really ugly on my older TVs and sometimes doesn’t see the server.
I can also use an app on my iPhone to play media from Plex/DLNA and send it to the Viera TVs. I think the app I used for this was ArkMC and it integrated somehow with the Viera app on my iPhone. It’s geeky cool that it worked but it seems like an awful lot of hoop-jumping just to watch TV.
Although my 2012 Panasonic TVs are “Smart TVs” and I like them, they appear dumb when compared to a $50 Roku stick which works quite nicely and supports all of the apps I need including Plex. If you need 4K, Roku is now offering the Roku 4 though I’ve not seen or used it.
On the new TVs, Plex would be an awesome addition but I’m not planning on buying a new TV for a while. My TVs are still quite new though the technology inside them already seems obsolete. ![]()

Is there any way we could help ? I am developer myself and could find some time, or I could test it on my tv or whatever is needed. I think Panasonic support would be a big step forward.
Hello everyone. excuse the quality 'of writing, but being Italian use the translator of the browser.
I took a few days a panasonic TX-55CX670E 4K and I have some questions to ask yourself.
I had previously turned into smart my old samsung 40 "with a mini PC, specifically the minix win8.1 to see SkyGo and premium play as well as’ multimedia content (films also .mkv, photos, music) I on NAS synology 215j
So now I have the following link:
NAS> Ethernet cable> minix> DHMI> TV
in the marketplace firefox os I found silverlight, is indispensable for the functioning of SkyGo that premium play.
My intention would be to eliminate the minix, viewing directly SkyGo premium-play and multimedia content on the NAS.
in your opinion, if you succeed ‘to have the application plex directly on TV, you can’ eliminate the minix?
another thing: why .avi files, on nas, not visulizzati on TV (unsupported file) while movies in mkv support them properly?
I also recently activated Creation Information Panasonic IPTV Apps DEVELOPERS but honestly I could not access the app downloaded on the tv. if someone can 'serve, I can go into my private access credentials
thank you all

Was wondering if there is an update about the project ![]()
Thanks !
I have a PANASONIC VIERA TX-55CX700E (2015) model, and I use plex by using the in-tv browser.
The arrow keys on my logitech harmony just move the mouse around and I actually prefer this above using the chromecast I have, because the TV is wired in my network and I can at least just use my remote to control it.
I’ve just bought a Panasonic VIERA TX-65CRW854 and i was shocked that there is no plex app for this TV
.
Using the browser version of plex isn’t working. Music is playing just fine, but if i try to start a movie or a tv-show it’s loading forever (the little circle is running round) but nothing happens.
So, is there even a little chance that we get a plex app for panasonic viera tvs?
Otherwise I will have to buy a amazon fire tv… just to run plex.
And that would mean:
That would be a shame. X_X
I’m thinking of buying the Panasonic 55CX700/720 - The only thing that is holding me back a bit is the lack of a PLEX app on the TV. Any update by the hero’s of PLEX :)?

No.
I have a Panasonic TX-50CX802B and would really like a Plex app for this Firefox based TV. It will make streaming all my movies and music so much easier.
Thanks
@mattseeley If there is anything I can help with. I am no programmer, but an IT engineer and willing to test for you. Cheers.
Hi all. I have just purchased a Panasonic TX-50CX700B 4k UHD tv (26th December 2015). Like others I was very surprised to find no native Plex app on the tv or even available to download through the apps. I got this Panasonic to replace a Sony tv that I had bought on 26th November 2015. It turned out to be a pile of junk with 394+ pages of problems and complaints about it on Sony’s own forum. The one good thing about the Sony was that I did have Plex on there. I can still access my Plex media server on my computer via Panasonic’s built in DLNA app. It’s nowhere near as nice to use as Plex. I can use my Roku box as a substitute as I have the Plex app installed on there but it’s only a Roku 1 and not as good as the higher end models.
So, add me to the ever growing list of hopefuls
Those of us who would love to see a proper Plex app for Panasonic tv’s.
Keep up the good work guys.
I run plex on my tv’s by other means. However, I think it is horrible there is no Plex app for the panasonic TVs’
From reading here it looks like even if there was a app to release in the future for panasonic, both of my panasonic screens will not be able to use them because of the outdated SDK.
I have a 2011 (plasma) beautiful screen, excellent picture
And a 2013 LED, great screen as well. Horrible that panasonic has not addressed this issue.
I have told friends and family to go with Samsung, due to their better app market and PLEX ALONE on Samsung screens.
It’s too bad because I really like panasonic. They should really think about their client base, being a lot of new comers these days, really enjoy the applications a TV can use.
Maybe I am wrong, will the older models before 2014 work with Plex (both tvs have VIera Cast) any input let me know.
As for other devs within this topic, awesome work that you are looking into it, and trying your best to get Plex to Panasonic … as for Panasonic… Smarten UP !
Fill me in with any details.
Thanks again guys! PLEX RULES !
yes yes we need it +1

Our hopes are on you guys!
This thread has been on a prominent shortcut location in my browser for a long time now…
Here’s to hoping that 2016 will bring Plex natively to Viera TV!

The dead link was possibly a typo from poster, without the “html5TV” it is the active link being referred to from FAQ | Panasonic IPTV Apps DEVELOPERS “What are the Target Devices?”.
However the list is now showing only 2014-2015 models, although I read “target models” as not being exclusive, so I assume (=hope!) that the initially shown list still has relevance. Hence I am repeating it before showing the current list below.

You have to click in the screen once when you get the loading thing. Then it will work. Ive been using it for a month now.
