@mattseeley
Thanks for posting elements of hope in your above answers
Hopefully without sounding impatient; Is there any chance the trio has had any chance to look further into developing a PLEX app for the Panasonic Viera TVs running Firefox OS?
Is there anything we as users can contribute with to help the process?

We hope it will too. With a small development team itās a challenge to balance support of existing clients and adding new clients. Someone set of users is always left with too little blankets.
Weāre excited to work on it although finding the time is challenging at the moment.
Hi Mattseeley
I hope you can help? There is a strong and active group of forum members including myself that supporting peole that have purchased the Panasonic VIERA TV; A market that is growing exonentially. I was wondering when your develoment team will be able to build an app for the Firefox system? This form page is already 25 pages long and the avforms is currently at 148 pages which I feel is good argument for and app to be built.
I emailed the customer service team requesting for the PLEX app and itās not good news.
See below
Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback regarding your CX802 unit.
As I am sure you can appreciate, the development of new and existing products is an extremely complex process; which takes into account customer feedback and technical considerations and limitations. Whilst we endeavour to ensure all of our products meet the highest of technological standards at the point of manufacture, as these technologies advance and new models are released, it is not always possible to retrospectively apply a new feature or function.
I can certainly appreciate your request that we should develop a PLex App and I have passed on your suggestion to the relevant Product Manager and Research and Development Team for consideration. I thank you again for taking the time in outlining your suggestion; however at this stage I cannot provide you any specifics as to if or when this may be present.
Should you have any further suggestions, questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us and I thank you for your continued support of Panasonic.
I trust that the above information will be of assistance to you. However, of course, if you should have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Agreed they should, but if the manufacturer see that creating an āin demand appā will āincrease their salesā then maybe they would approach PLEX and ask the app to be created. Money talks! worth trying.

well of course the development should come from Plex itself and not the tv manufacturer.

I have a PANASONIC VIERA TX-55CX700E (2015) model, and I use plex by using the in-tv browser.
The arrow keys on my logitech harmony just move the mouse around and I actually prefer this above using the chromecast I have, because the TV is wired in my network and I can at least just use my remote to control it.
So for instance is always possible to use the Plex Web App to run the content from a remote server?
Iām in the same situation, so I prefer to use a wired connection to the HTPC Server.
I would like to buy a TX-55CX700E too, but Sony w/ Android TV (x83) seems best suited for Plex Server direct connection. Is not so clear tome if there are difference by playing the content in HTML5 web player or with native app (like PHT or Android App).
As far as I read the Panasonic seems better in terms of pure image quality and Firefox OS looks interesting and fully complaint with Netflix (finally arrived in Italy too) and YouTube 4k.
I tring to figure out how should be hard build app on HTML5 OS.
Panasonic have a history of sitting on their hands when it comes to updating their products. Iāve also emailed them and got a very wishy washy response. Anyone remember Viera cast and Viera connect that died a slow death due to lack of support? They really need to push for extra usable apps for THEIR TVs, otherwise customers will go elsewhere. Panasonic 4K picture quality is perfect, but the OS whilst simple to use will go the way of Viera cast and connect. In the meantime Iāve purchased a Raspberry Pi 3 running KODI with the XBMCPLEX app providing Plex. Not ideal, but it works and the good thing is the TV remote works the Pi.
okey i read all the post, but i unterstand the problem ā¦
I got a Panasonic 65AX800 Series . And all days i got updates with new apps (Video Apps)
Is the a problem form Panasonic or is it a problem from Plex to coding that application ?
