Plex app for roku crashing roku (reboots or app crash)

You will be watching the show for a few moments and all of a sudden the sound cuts out , then the plex app locks. Sometimes the app crashes and you’re sent back to the roku home screen other times the roku actually reboots in its entirety.

The show plays just fine when being played from a chrome web browser, or using jellyfin.

I attempted to get logs locally however since the app crashed the logs were lost. I was sending them remote as well so hopefully you will have them, i have attached the plex logs form the server directly

Roku OS 9.4.0 build 4210-46 (this unit is hardwired to a ubiquiti switch) also happens on roku os 10.0 4192 (this unit is on wifi on a Ubiquiti ac pro)Plex app on roku 6.7 build 24
Media is on a local unraid system using the linuxserver/plex docker (11th Gen Intel® Core™ i5-11600K @ 3.90GHz, 16gb ram no other dockers running no vms running)

Since no one has replied, I’ll wade in. Have you tried some standard troubleshooting things?

Delete the app from the Roku and re-add it?

Load the Preview app also and see if it does the same thing? (Look for a link to the preview channel in this thread):

Try turning on subtitles to force Plex to transcode it.

You also might want to take a screenshot of the Dashboard while it’s playing. Might give some other clues.

Ive tried deleting the app and re-adding it, as well as the preview app ddint resolve it. i will try the subtitles thing i suspect it is a media encoding thing where the plex server is not decoding /encoding the stream properly but its just a guess

@ljunkie Every time I try to go to bed watching Live TV on the Roku I will wake up to the Roku home screen. Dunno what’s happening but it’s probably similar to this. Started happening about 3-4 releases ago.
