I’m running the current Plex Media Server Version 1.19.4.2935 on a Mac running High Sierra Version 10.13.6. Here’s my issue: certain video files will play fine on my mobile devices and other TV apps, but won’t start on my Sony Bravia xbr-70x830f app. If you try and start the file it just buffers endlessly, and the same thing happens if I try to cast the file from my phone to the TV (even while it’s playing successfully on my phone) or use airplay from my phone to apply TV. Other files work fine so it’s very odd. Another weird aspect of this: when I switch the tv input from Plex app back to cable I can hear that the audio track from the file starts playing in the background over the video from the cable box, but then when I switch the input back to Plex app I see the buffering video again and the audio playback stops. Crazy! Appreciate any help!
Sorry, I should have said provide the logs after reproducing the issue. Your log doesn’t show the playback attempt. I do see something odd but I need to see the star of playback.
Hmm that’s weird because I did reproduce the issue first. I let the file spin and not start for a minute or so before turning network logging on. I can give it another shot and let it attempt to start for longer this time.
Hows this? I’m not clear on whether I’m supposed to play it, then turn logging on, or turn logging on, then play it, so I did it for 10 seconds both ways.logging.txt (1.1 MB)
Ok, this issue is causing your logs to fill really fast so even 10s isn’t quick enough. Let me check with the team on how we can proceed. I’ll get back to you.
In the meantime there should be a setting to turn off the new video player. Please try that.
