Some files don’t load properly when started directly from the Plex app on my android TV (Philips 43pus6501) - the video hangs, but audio is OK. If I start the same file by browsing to the “Plex Media Server” folder - it works, but subtitles are not loaded. Plex app is the latest version. What could be the issue?
Most videos hang when played from the Plex app. They work when played from the “plex media server folder”, which can be accessed from the TV OS, it is just a “location”, visible as a connected HD or similar. Screenshot attached.

Ok, I’ve never seen this app/UI, but I’m pretty sure it means you’re using the DLNA portion of PMS when streaming this way, so it’s probably more an issue with the Plex app on your TV.
After enabling the logging and reproducing the issue, you can grab your device logs:
In a browser, go to http://IPofAndroidDevice:32500/logging (where IPofAndroidDevice is the local IP address of your FireTV or Android TV)
Save the browser page as a text file or copy-paste it into a text file and save
Tip! Fire TV users will have this URL listed on the Log to Device setting screen.
When the logging is enabled, the logs are also sent to a logging service. A handful of members of the Plex team have access to those logs and can pull them up, but the logs are only available for a few days. Only the Plex team has access to the logs though, so other forum members won’t be able to help you."
Thanks, activating audio passthrough did improve things a bit. Some videos that previously didn’t work properly now do, but for some I get the message “your connection to the server is not fast enough to stream this video…”
BUT, the video works fine when I load it from the TV’s interface (DLNA I guess). So it has to be something related to the Plex app.
