Plex app for Windows takes ages to open

As per title. It takes a lonnnng time to open - sometimes up to a minute. If I run it as an administrator it opens and is ready to interact with immediately.

Edit - well that’s interesting. I was launching it from the taskbar after pinning it there. If I navigate to C:\Program Files\Plex\Plex and launch plex.exe from there, it’s fine. Strange. I deleted the shortcut from the taskbar, re-added it and the behaviour continues.

Any suggestions?

Delete all drive letter connections with unavailable network file shares.

Thanks. That was it. Unfortunately I don’t want to have to map a network drive to my Dekstop PC every time I want to connect to it (as it’s not on all the time).

I recommend storing a shortcut link on your desktop instead.
(e.g. \\192.168.0.45\sharename)

It can also help to edit the LMHOSTS file and put in the IP of the NAS that you want to access.
That way it is much easier and faster to type in \\nas+Enter in the address bar of Windows file explorer.
