The plex app on the apple tv is experiencing “hick-ups” on playbacks. Watching a 720x400 @2,6 Mbps file with direct playback is having troubles. Activating auto-convert is makin’ it even worse. I guess it’s a codec thing, 'cos I’ve watched files with 10 Mbps in 1080p direct playback with no issues (stuttering / freezing for couple of frames).
I can watch 4k files with vlc that are placed on the same folder on the QNAP NAS.
Any ideas how i can improve that?
Mine still have the stuttering issue even with the new player. Constant stutters or slow downs. I’m honestly so done with this issue. I’ve just gone to using Infuse. Roku, of course, plays everything perfectly like usual.
I have been experiencing the same issues with the new player… restarting the apple tv seems to bring it back but very frustrating.
I have reverted to using the “old player” and that seems to resolve the issue
I have issues with the new players and the old one. Ridiculous that Plex can’t get this right but can make Roku run everything perfect. Infuse runs 99.99% of things perfectly.
