Is there plex app available for Sony Blu ray player BDP-S185. I dont see the app on the menu.

No, there isn't.
The BDP Sony bluray players can browse the plex library over DLNA. This should already be working with the latest version of Plex now.
I just set up Plex last night. Works fine for XBox 360s, of course, but can't get the server to show up on my Sony BDP. Not sure what model since I'm not at home right now. Any hints on where I can look to fix this issue? I've been checking the forum and haven't found any thread that doesn't have 100 lines of confusing code. I'm not code savvy at all. The server is set up on my Mac Mini with Snow Leopard. Thoughts?
the same here: Sony BDP BX57 doesn’t see Plex app via DLNA, but it can see Serviio on the same PC with no issues. and Samsung player can see both Plex and Serviio via DLNA.
I struggling getting Plex working with either my Sony BluRay (BDP-S390) or PS3, although I would swear it did work initially with the PS3…
All of the devices are on the same subnet - either wired or wireless. The Server is a Windows 7 PC. No issues with the iPad, PCs or Galaxy S3. I can see the PMS with both the Blu-Ray player and PS3 and can browse down to the section. When I go past that to select a movie, I get a DLNA Protocol Error 501. With the Blu-Ray player - same result except I get a Cannot Connect to Server Error.
I’m pretty new to this - I’ve went through several posts to try and figure out the issue. It seems several people have the PS3 working right out of the box. I tried to implement a profile I found on the forum… no change so I don’t know if I did it correctly.
I was thinking of starting over from scratch but wanted to do a post to see if I could get some help.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Had the same issue. Used the Oprea TV app and was able to find the Plex app through that… hope that helps
