Plex app loads slow on Nvidia Shield

Server Version#: PMS VERSION: v1.25.8.5663
Player Version#: 5.6.1.505
Plex app loads extremely slow (3 minutes) on my Nvidia Shield 2015 when I use the modern version, however, it load’s normally when I use the older version 5.6.1.505.
Windows Desktop and Windows laptop loads normally using the latest version, also Roku loads normally using the latest version.
I have already troubleshoot this with the Nvidia Shield support, we cleared the cache and data of both the PMS and App. Given that it loads normally in all other platforms and it loads normally with older version, they suggested I contact Plex.
Any suggestions what the issue may be?

are we talking about the Plex Android TV player on shield or the Server on shield?

That does not look like a version number for the Plex Android player or the server. Where are you seeing that?

if it is a a really old version then you should check google play store for updates

That version of the Android client is from March 2017! Time to update… :stuck_out_tongue:

That exactly the issue, if I update once I type my PIN number, Plex takes 3 minutes to load. I have tried signing automatically, however, it still takes 3 minutes to load.

In which of the logs would I find the following behavior?

The new Plex.tv app loads extremely slow but the old Plex.tv app works and loads great, it loads as fast as the windows laptop and desktop and as fast as the Roku app, then, it has to be something in the new app.

I downloaded plex.tv app version 8.28 and the same issue.
