Plex App on Apple TV Gets Into State Where You Cannot Access the Sidebar Menu

I’m running the latest version of the Plex app on the latest version of TVOS (Apple TV). We consistently experience this phenomenon:

  1. Finish watching an episode of a TV show and land on the “Up Next” screen (see image below)
  2. You will be unable to access the sidebar menu and are forced to force quit the app

When you return to the app, the Back button no longer works and you cannot access the sidebar menu on the left side of the screen (in fact the sidebar menu does not render at all). Force quitting the app restores functionality. We’ve been experiencing this issue for over a year on both of the Apple TV’s in our home. Has anyone else experienced this?
