I have Plex App on Sony X900H 4K TV. It plays my 4K MKV movies without any buffering or issues.
The Roku Ultra 2019 is connected to my AVR Denon X-3300W (which supports 4K HDR). The Roku and TV both are hardwired (I believe, both have 100Mbps ethernet ports). All HDMI cables are Premium Certified from Monoprice.
I have checked the settings of the Plex App on both Sony TV and Roku Ultra and they seem to be same/similar.
Is Roku hardware not able to handle local 4K MKV files?
Note - I know that Nvidia Shield Pro will resolve this issue (and also give me full HD Audio and DV), but wanted to check here for any insights. Also, since the Nvidia Shield Pro is now nearly 2 years old, I think I would like to wait and see what new features will come with new Nvidia Shield Pro (2021 or 2022).
