I recently noticed that various Plex Player apps that I use (Web, Mac) have begun to sort photos wrongly under “timeline view”. That said, when applying this view, the last image in a stack of images taken on a specific date is always displayed as the last image in the following batch taken on a different date. For instance, the last picture taken on the 18th August will be shown as the first picture taken on, say, the 25th August, if there are any.
This sorting behaviour has apparently been applied retroactively to all images in my photo library (10.000+). However, it is not being applied to any that I have added since then. Curiously, all iOS apps correctly sort all images.
I have verified that the images in question actually have the correct “capture date” (which they do) and have rescanned the library, but to no avail: the entire library remains sorted in this way. While the overview view shows the photos sorted wrongly, opening an image does reveal the correct capture date.
Has anyone seen this behaviour yet?
