Been having a heck of a time getting games to play on the new Arcade. Loaded some neither the built in games nor added roms will run. Was able to get the custom roms to scan but if I attempt to run any game it just hangs hangs. Only error I am getting is this
Are you running Plex remotely on Windows? If so, RDP to the remote machine and make sure Plex Game Transcoder.exe can communicate through the firewall.
Are you running Plex as a service? There is an issue we’ve yet to resolve which prevents PMS running as a service from launching games correctly.
I gave it a quick check and I am running an AMD Radeon RX570 which supports DX11.1 and VCE so I think its ok there.
When launching a game I had an RDP session open on my server and saw a windows firewall popup when the game transcoder fired up which I approved. Just to be safe I turned off the firewall on the local LAN for the server to see if that was affecting things with the same result
I am running plex as a service on a Windows 10 PC.
Tried out the new Core Manager to not have to manually edit an XML file and noticed that no Atari cores were loaded. I think somewhere I got the impression that Atari cores would have been loaded by default as part of the setup process. Do I have the wrong idea?
Another thing that stuck out was that, in my set up of Plex Arcade, the instructions showed a checkbox for including Atari games (with a logo) but when I set up my game library that option did not exist. I wonder if that is why, if the Atari cores were supposed to be there, that did not happen.
Anyway, I can load games now but the performance is abysmal. That is a subject for another ticket though.
The Atari core should be downloaded when you play your first Atari game. You will get an error at first, then it should change to indicate it is downloading the core, then offer a retry to play the game.
That makes sense. For some reason this did not happen with my setup and I had to download the cores manually. It works now, but the performance is particularly laggy, even over the LAN
I am also getting this error. The server has a nvidia 1060, and meets all the other requirements. it flips between this error for custom NES roms. I used the core manager. And it also gives me the error trying the Atari roms. Is there any other further debugging i can do?
ok all day of beating this up. I got the things going. I needed to update to the latest nvida drivers. And WAM it all went working. To overcome the network issues i opened UDP 8000-8002 in my router.
