Plex Arcade: The game transcoder exited unexpectedly

Anyone get this working yet? I have all my Atari ROMS in the library, plex see’s them (love the look). Every time I attempt to play one Plex tosses the error:

Playback Error
The game transcoder exited unexpectedly.
Error code: 8005 (Game Server)

Please provide the full PMS logs.

Same Here, how can I grab those?

Here are my logs

I wonder if it has to do with the cores I’m using, or something else…?

Keep in mind this is still experimental. Try grabbing another core.

Ifs its experimental you should not be changing for it WITHOUT a warning of this fact!! Correct me if I’m wrong but that’s actually illegal in most of the world!

Our announcement of this feature says it’s a Plex Lab release. Plex Lab is for experimental projects.

I’ve tried a handful. Restarted the server a few times, sometimes it acts like it’s going to load, then errors out. Do you want the latest logs as well?

Weird…

Yeah, seems like it doesn’t like mesen_libretro.dll. You can copy and paste this to a terminal to get potentially better errors.

There are many cores out there, not all are guaranteed to work

I cant get the included games to launch as well, getting this same error. Do we need to add a core for them as well?

A black/blank screen means

1 - the game isn’t working OR
2 - the game transcoder crashed from a previous game

We don’t have a fix for 1. Some games just may not work. You can try adding a different core.

For 2, kill the process and try again.

Edit - @Clowd-Cole No you do not need to provide your own core for the included games. Although you can try using another core. The included games should work with the provided core.

Same exact problems here. Plex needs to refund us our “free trial” days since we aren’t able to even use the service. I get this error with all Apple clients (phone, ipad, tvOS). It also won’t read custom ROMs that I know work.

So yeah, I’d say this is a complete botched rollout of this service, surprised it even made it out of QA. Also, linking the two services requires deep digging into settings. Not a good job on Plex’s part at all.

Have you followed out guide on proving your own games?

So the included games just may not work? Those are the ones I am having trouble with.

They do work in our testing. If they don’t work, there could be something specific with your setup.

Have you checked if your hardware meets the requirements? https://support.parsec.app/hc/en-us/articles/360001106411-How-Do-I-Know-If-My-Graphics-Card-Supports-Hosting-A-Game-With-Parsec

Ah, thats probably by my issue. I currently running my server off onboard graphics on dual Xeons. Thank you for the responce. I need to accelerate finding me a GPU.

It seems to be core-related. I haven’t found an NES core that works with it yet, but parallel_n64_libretro (from the Core Manager) worked for me.

This is a neat idea, but I can’t see myself paying $4/month(CAD) for it, I’ll just live with my RetroPi for now and not play on my phone.

so chances are it wont run with CPU only as i only have a dell poweredge t610, no GPU, i have the dual xeon CPUs running windows 10

This is what my error log says. none of the included games launch
