If lumin gets it then whats so different about other endpoints?
I was hoping Plexamp would have this feature, that is why I subscribed to PlexPass to try it out. After not finding this (in my world no-brainer) capability in the app, doing some digging and finding this years old thread, I think I understand Plex will not implement this and I will need to move on. Move on mentally from idea of having a simple all integrated media world, but move on with my money elsewhere, too.
+1
We all need this!
It has been 10 years, is it still possible to implement this feature?
Plex in general, is not about what we need, haven’t you figured that out yet? ![]()
Instead of installing plexamp next to moode, I went and installed GitHub - songchenwen/plexdlnaplayer: There is no built in way to cast Plex music to DLNA speakers. This project will be the bridge. next to moode. It serves the same purpose but has a way smaller footprint and can be run via docker.
I just hate that Plex refuses to add this feature making us have to work around their stubbornness.
If you look in the plexdlnaplayer repo’s issues you’ll see that I tried to use it but could not get it to work in my environment. I always had intended to come back and start hacking on it but never got around to it. I think it’s a great idea but it’s the kind of thing that (in my opinion) really needs a little developer community to flourish on it at least for a while to clean up enough edge cases to make it viable.
Lets get this pushed up again. Why PLEX are you ignoring this request??? All devices in my network support DLNA and using Plexamp as control for my music would be the perfect solution.
