Infuse is No good for you then supports Apple Devices only

:raised_back_of_hand: Just wanted to point out that’s definitely not the case. We actually feel (and have felt for years, look how old Plexamp is) that separate apps can provide a better, more streamlined experience for a media type (or cohort of types). Some of us have argued passionately about it for quite some time.

I too would love to hear how you’re having issues getting it to work. If you have a music library, it should work. If not, let us know and we’ll help.

Does Spotify come with instructions? It should just work, if you have a music library.

Jellyfin LiveTV works fine for me with my HDHomeRun. Has DVR as well.

Hey thanks for the response. I’ll be happy to be proven entirely wrong about my expectations. If time tells a different story than the one I fear, I’m all for it.

Argh - after spending a bunch of time getting HTTPS working with Jellyfin, I finally tried to download a show onto my iPhone – and there’s no download support in iOS!!
edit: On the plus side, the app is much more responsive, and works well even with the gym’s spotty wifi.

AFAIK downloads do not work on Jellyfin Mobile, but it DOES work perfectly on Streamyfin Android and iPhone. Best part? It is super fast!

It’s a native app not a ‘browser’ like Jellyfin Mobile. It supports casting to Chromecast and works with Google Home commands like skip forward / backward x min etc.

Plus, there’s a Jellyfin plugin you can add on the server side that gives you some extras like auto-login, layout tweaks, and more.

Yes! Streamyfin looks great, and iOS downloads not only work, they are unbelievably fast: 13.6 seconds for a 613MB show.

My conclusions about Jellyfin + JellyPlex + Streamyfin:

  1. It takes a little more effort to set up, especially with https. To be fair, JellyPlex isn’t really part of the Jellyfin burden, just the changeover burden.
  2. Plex has some niceties like built-in LiveTV guides and auto subtitles downloads. You can configure these in Jellyfin, but require external accounts.
  3. Streamyfin seems great, but I’m not sure why the “Official” Jellyfin app doesn’t do iOS downloads.
  4. Performance is exceptional. No spinny wheel ever.
  5. Jellyfin has a downmix audio boost feature, which has been missing from Plex forever and drives me nuts.

Everything seems fine when using both; I think I will keep running them in tandem for a bit.

If you feel that Jellyfish is not enough for you - try Emby.
