PLEX buffering issues with 4k HDR/DV files

Server Version#: Версия 1.32.6.7371
Player Version#: latest version on 09.08.23 for ios apple tv 4k, Philips 65oled807 androidTV, xiaomi mi tv box 4k
Plex pass lifetime subscription.

I got HTPC server with 12700k, RTX2060, 64gb ram windows 11 using plex server, connected via 500mbit internet with 1gbit connection

Clients remotely works at another address with internet 300mbps connected via 1gbps cat6 cables, ping via speedtest less than 5-10ms, connection 300mbps.

I got insane buffering every 3-5 seconds when playing almost any 4k video file more than 40gb size with HDR or DV i have on HTPC.
Its have direct play video\audio (system works with HD sound up too ATMOS, DTS HD, Imax enhanced natively), but as i see plex player apps dont buffer more than few mbytes and just have spikes of connection every 5 seconds to buffer next 5 second of video. Its unusable to watch any video. I tried to check connection speed and download file directly and speed easily peeks 300mbit limit with dl speed of 29-32mbytes\s. Puss in boots 4k hybrid only 18gb size that download for like 25-35 min maximum also have the same issue, so its like any 4k videos have same problems. and there is no problem playing bdremux 1080p with 60gb sizes

Is support know about 4k video playback buffer issue that stop client to make a normal buffer size for playback?

so its looks like no one have such a problem and ways to solve it? because i saw a bunch topics on reddit and another forums with that problems too and no help. i got wired connection on ATV 4k box with 300mbps connection and still it cant play flawlessly even 20gb files when its 4k without transcode (disabled on server side), but 1080p even 50gb 1080p releases work perfectly fine

I am not sure this relates to your problem …but I used to have an unexplained buffering issues exactly like you describe with just some 4k and only recently discovered it was the trueHD audio causing the problem on most playback devices.

Doesn’t seem to matter if the device or receiver supports it.
For example: no issue with transcoded truehd on my 2nd gen fire cube or on an apple TV …but it won’t play on a Fire TV Max stick or any built in smart TV. Have no idea why fire cube would play it but not the stick …basically same thing except cube has twice the ram. which shouldn’t matter since audio transcoding is happening on the server end. I am on a 1gb with 500mbs up 5ms ping fiber connection.

Also… when looking at dashboard client streaming data. Often it will lie about the streaming speed (doubling it, graph should still be accurate?). I found that Plex Dash app for mobile device is more accurate.

I use almost always 5.1 dd, dts, bcz it’s available only in my dub, not original hd tracks. I
