Plex Cannot handle seamless branching Atmos audio. For example, if a movie, say “The Martian” (2015) is released on Blu-ray with both a theatrical version and a directors cut, the Dolby Atmos TrueHD mix is a “seamless branching” stream of audio. What this means is that, say for the first 10 minutes of the movie, both releases have the same audio, but at minute 11, the theatrical release has one branch of audio it follows, and the directors cut follows a different branch of audio, then they come back together for the same audio at minute 15.
VLC can play my remux rip of this movie without any issues with the TrueHD Atmos audio, but on my Plex client, when the player encounters a branching audio section, the audio cuts out for roughly a second while the video continues, then the audio comes back in with a noticeable desync between the two, and the only recourse is to fast forward a bit so it resynchronizes the video and audio.
This happens on any Atmos enabled Plex client I have, going to a Denon receiver and atmos sound system.
I’m not the only one experiencing this.

Can a dev please look at this because it kills the immersion and hampers the claim that Plex supports Dolby Atmos (without special conditions). I appreciate any help
