When playing an MKV with ATMOS tracks via my Nvidia Shield Pro on my LG C2 using an LG SP8YA soundbar I get a lot of interruptions where it keeps flashing up the ATMOS sign which of course cuts out the sound for a moment. I’ve done some searching but it seems there is a lack of a solution, a lot of people say it is to do with the Plex player as there aren’t any issues with ATMOS tracks on other services.

I see this too, and wondering if your device getting high enough internet bandwidth for what you are watching? I noticed this happens to me for higher bitrate movies, essentially 4k movies.
How is everything hooked up? Is it Shield > TV > Soundbar or Shield > Soundbar > TV? The second option will probably result in better behavior. And are you attempting to play lossy Dolby Digital Plus-based Atmos (DD+/E-AC-3) or lossless TrueHD-based Atmos? Streaming services only use DD+, so if you’re attempting to play TrueHD it’s not quite an equal comparison.
So a little bit more tweaking and plugging in to the soundbar via the HDMI In connection is now working, it seems there might be an issue where the signal drops as the TV plays with the soundbar and resets it to E-ARC rather than HDMI input.
Also it seems that plugging into the soundbars HDMI in has stop Dolby Vision logo from appearing on the TV even though the HDR logo does show, but then the Dolby ATMOS logo doesn’t appear on TV with this connection setup but does appear on the soundbar.
