Got a new computer. Moved my physical internal data drive to the new computer. It’s D:
Installed Plex, and copied the entire %LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\ contents to new computer
Fired up Plex and all looked great. No yellow triangles, but nothing plays. I get the error “Please check that the file exists and the necessary drive is mounted”
Turns out Plex is just not seeing my D: drive. When I go to Add Library → Add Folder, my D: drive is not found as a choice.
Nothing on this drive has changed. It’s the same drive and data that my old PC’s Plex accessed.
I’m lost and any help is appreciated.
No, it’s an internal SATA drive, not an external. Plex sees my C: drive and my external G:, but not my D:
I would happily re-create everything, but when I uninstalled Plex and removed every trace of the app, everything was still there when I reinstalled Plex. Any help in that regard would be helpful as well.
No, it’s just a normal Plex installation.
Yes, the drive was formatted in a different computer running Windows 10. Just a normal NTFS format.
The new machine is running Windows 11, and the drive is not encrypted. My other apps see and use the data on this drive without issue.
Thank you for the link. I will give that a try and see if I can obtain a fresh, empty install of Plex, and will report back.
