When adding folders to a library, only my C drive is shown. I have two internal hard drives installed, letters H & M and neither will show up.
I can browse to them via explorer and open all content that is on them without an issue. One drive, I pulled from my old system and connected and Windows automatically recognized it. The other drive is a new one I connected and went through the process of initializing it and making it into an ntfs partition. The results in plex are the same for both.
I have tried to reinstall plex, tried taking ownership of the drives, running plex as admin. Tried entering the paths manually also tried creating a shared folder from the drives and entering the unc path of it when adding a folder. I have been at this for a while and cannot figure out what the problems is. Any help is greatly appreciated.
If you don’t know, then you are not running it as a service
It requires additional steps/software to make it.
Is this a question?
When you click on ‘Browse for media folder’, you get an input field at the top.
paste the path to the other drive (+folder!) into it and click on ‘ADD’.
I recommend to load the web app fresh into a new browser window from https://app.plex.tv before you do it.
Don’t use “naked” drive letters, btw. Always create folders and add these to Plex’ libraries.
Sorry I didn’t mean to add the question mark. I have tried pasting the path when adding folder and it didn’t work. Tried a new browser window, cleared the cache, even tried different browsers. Still the C drive is the only drive available when adding folders to the library.
I am not saving things to the root of the drive. I have a folder structure on the drive.
