Plex-cli

It would be very useful if there were a plex-cli tool that I could use to help automate several tasks. @ChuckPa recently mentioned that thumbnail generation and other tasks (eg: scene indexing) are handled by the CPU as a background task at a lower priority. It would be great if I could turn this off in the UI and only do it manually with a plex-cli utility where I could specifically invoke my GPU to handle these things. Especially if I have a commercial card (eg: RTX A5000), I can transcode and scrub and index all-the-things – and maybe I do these things as a cronjob in the background during times I know are “off-hours” for my Plex Server.

Other things I’d like to do are “Clean Bundles” and “Optimize Database” before my backup job runs (I rsync /var/lib/plexmediaserver to my backup server each night), and it would be great to run those two jobs before I do a backup.

I’m sure others could think of a load of other things to do with a fully capable plex-cli utility.

Please let me know if there is already a solution for this, as my googling has not informed me of such.

Thank you.
