Plex Client on Nvidia shield stops responding when selecting a new song

Player Version#:8.11.0.22186log_Dec_22_2020.txt (1.1 MB)

If I select a song while a song is already playing the music stops and the song I selected doesn’t start playing. If I then hit the stop button it does not respond (the play button doesn’t appear). The only way out is to reset Plex. have two nvidia shields and this happens on both. Is this a known bug? Is there a work around? When will it be fixed?

Two weeks and not one reply, is there any other way to contact Plex for support or is this the typical support one receives from Plex?

Push. I’ve got the same issue since October 2020…

To see it visually, what we mean.

I’ve updated to PLEX Client Version 8.13.2.23227 and my NAS has been updated to 1.22.0. The issue persists.

I’ll ask again, is this issue being worked? Is there an estimated time to resolve? Does anybody from PLEX read this forum/help line, it’s been more than 3 months and no reply from tech support? Is this typical? Is there another way to escalate the issue?

I don’t see any /sdcard folder, even when typing in smb://[IPAdress]/sdcard

Nevertheless I don’t see that any Plex employee cares about this malfunction at all, otherwise somebody would have typed in some helpful words here…

Again 2 MONTHS are over - a total of 5 MONTHS have passed. It’s truly a shame, because this is not a feature request (which takes ages for an answer or consideration - ya we got Plex Arcade… ) but a bug report. It seems like you lost your focus at some point.

Push for bug fixing.

Maybe you could add in the opening the tag for the nvidia shield.

Are you really still on 8.11? I would recommend upgrading, I don’t have this problem on 8.18.2.25850.

Shield TV Pro (2019) has Plex Version 8.18.2.25850 and it is still bugged.

This is not an area of the forum I monitor but came to look when I saw the flag.

I am puzzled about the problem described.

  1. I have a shield - firmware 8.2.3, app 8.18.2
  2. Server is on another machine.
  3. I’ve never experienced any playback issues.
  4. There is the normal momentary pause when selecting something else to play.

Is the CLIENT freezing or is it the server ?

What is the firmware version?

NOTE MULTIPLE “bump” posts removed.

Latest Shield Experience Update and latest Plex Version on Shield and latest Plex Version on Synology Diskstation (DSM 6.2.4 x86 Server).

But forget it. I’m done, because there obviously more important bugs to fix and develope more bugged features to maintain…
