Plex Cloud Beta

Are current Plex Pass users higher up on the list for an invite? I’m sure there’s a ton of us that are VERY interested in testing every aspect of the new platform/feature.

According to their blog, the initial beta invites will only go out to Plex Pass users, so yes.

Starting today, Plex Cloud, our new, premium offering, will be available to a limited number of interested Plex Pass users who want to participate in the invite-only beta program. If this sounds good, head over and sign up here. We’ll be expanding the program over the coming weeks, so if you don’t hear back right away, sit tight!

Hi Tizmagik,

I’ve registered for the beta invite, I only made a mistake with the registration. However I cannot edit this anymore. Is there any change to modify the registration for the beta? I would highly appreciate to get the opportunity to be involved with the trial.

Thanks for the support, and thanks for making such a awesome program,

Chayim

Hello - same here. I would like to edit my registration answer to “Are you an Amazon Drive subscriber?” from “No” to “Yes” (I subscribed just now), but it looks like even if you try to submit a new form, it says your username has already been used.

Same here, I wasn’t a Amazon Drive subscriber when I filled out the beta application but I am so excited for Plex Cloud I went ahead and subscribed for a year… but I am unable to go back and update the beta application to reflect that now.

Haha same here  I’m a Dropbox subscriber but would rather use Amazon Drive. Can’t change my signup now - would love to test!

I doubt it will make a difference if you were registered to amazon or not at time of registration. Fingers crossed theres more than 10 beta spots. Really eager to try this out myself.

I’m still entitled to 60 days of trial but will definitely sign up if this is going through - I’m scared witless to lose our 6TB of converted movies and series, took me 3 years to convert all our disks. Have a backup drive now, naturally, but honestly I’ve been dreaming of being able to use the cloud for years. Whether I’m selected for testing or not, eventually I’m definitely going to sign up… even if it may take 10 years to upload those files :stuck_out_tongue:

Plex should look into how StableBit are doing their Cloud Drive. It’s most likely the best way to store your stuff in the cloud and use it with Plex.

They encrypt all the data and split files up into small pieces and are instead downloading several pieces at a time to increase general speeds.

Wanting to host homevideos, I do like the option for having my files stores encrypted, as i wouldn’t want complete access to videos of my children for anyone who might sniff my amazon logins.

I already have a 50 plus gbytes in the cloud at Amazon via the current cloud sync product.

Can I switch my cloud sync files to plex cloud?? I’d prefer not to have to re-upload this material.

It’s probably possible, but it will require some work.
Plex Cloud, like a local PMS, wants movies in one folder and TV shows in another.
CloudSync puts them all in one folder, it does embedded metadata into the files so Plex Cloud should be able to read that part

I already have 1TB on plex cloud. This plus Plex DVR is so good. It’s really hard to pass it up!

47TB of HomeVideos in Amazon-Cloud
