Plex Cloud - Cheap NAS Suggestion?

I have been a very happy Plex Cloud customer and must transition to a hardware solution before November 30, 2018.

I was looking at some inexpensive NAS solutions from your spreadsheet (under $500) and had a question.

All of my videos/movies are under 1GB and are in .mp4 format. I read that the NAS devices are not ideal for transcoding. Will my videos need transcoding since they are in .mp4 format? I am a novice when it comes to the Plex server (physical side) and was hoping I could get buy with a sub-$500 NAS and not have to invest $1000s.

There are many to choose from but id say at least a 4bay nas, will be more future proof.
WD Cloud Pro Series PR4100
SPANdotCOM supposedly says one of the best for plex. you should look him up on youtube.
