How about with googlde drive? I have unlimited storage for google drive account.
This usually means you’re on an education account of some sort so make sure you’re not violating the TOS from G or your school.
Google Drive as part of G Suite offers unlimited storage for $10/month. In theory you need a minimum of five users each paying $10 as with less than that the limit is 1TB but apparently this limit is not enforced.

The business model was never sustainable and the concept was doomed from the start. It’s unfortunate that Plex didn’t have the foresight to see the obvious like many on these forums could, and instead teased the masses with an unrealistic pie-in-the-sky product.
Hopefully Plex learns from this and gets back to their roots, honing the core product and attending to its flaws and needs instead of crazy superfluous add-ons.
As a shareholder of AMZN, I think Amazon made the right decision here. Charging what is basically $5/mo and having droves of average users sign up for a service that has zero profit margin would be fiduciary irresponsibility. There were likely legal liability implications involved as well.
I bought a lifetime Unlimited Google Account from eBay, it was supposed to be a one off payment of $15 but my card didn’t go through. The dude emailed me within minutes with my account details anyway. ¯\(ツ)/¯
Anyway, it comes as a very high risk storage solution as the guy can wipe the account whenever he wants. But he’s got no reason to destroy his credit.
I’ve also got a local server, so my files are safe. If my account gets wiped I’ll find another supplier. It took 2 days to rclone about 1TB of files to the drive ready to go.
$15 for a “lifetime” seems like a better option than any other solution out there if you’ve got non-critical files.

Still haven’t got my invite though
Sounds too good to be true it probably is. The guy probably using a stolen credit card or gift card for payment and it will be gone quickly. Anytime a one time payment exists for ANY cloud product just run away. The whole point of the cloud is subscription so that one time payment tells you something is not right.

No, they are selling educational accounts which are free for the school anyway. Whereas I agree with the fact it’s probably not entirely kosher for them to sell off those accounts, there is no reason to assume credit card fraud is involved.
Has anyone received an Cloud invite in the last two weeks? I signed up several weeks ago and still nada. I’d really like to get the ball rolling on this to see if it is going to work out.

Weird. I just got one yesterday morning… I’ll give it a go.

Yeah this is upsetting to hear. Amazon Cloud Drive wasn’t even supporting files over 2 GB until a few weeks ago, which is why i’m now about 40% into uploading my library. I’ll probably still get it all up there, in hopes that it works one day, but now I’m back to considering building my own file server, as the cost of any other service is just too great for my needs.
No, they have always supported 2GB files. Where are you getting that from?
Too bad about Plex Cloud not working with Amazon. Unless you have some very special deals with google, dropbox, or one drive, Plex cloud is useless which is too bad. My internet went out after an ice storm over the weekend and Plex Cloud would have come in handy.

If your internet was out Plex Cloud could not work as the entirety of Plex Cloud resides in the cloud and must be accessed via the internet. Think of it as a personal Netflix where you put the content into a provider on the internet and access it via a server that also resides on the internet.

WHAT!?
I thought it came out of a cloud, like rain, or freezing rain.
Ok, that was uncalled for. Sorry. That does however illustrate the advantages of having your media right there in the comfort of your home so you can watch via the melodic melody of the generator out back when the power lines go down due to ice build up.
Folks can’t seem to wait to get all their stuff up there in the clouds - just before a Solar Flare takes out the world’s infrastructure. I went the other way. I moved all my stuff to the bunker along with all my food, ammunition, medical supplies…

You have a Bunker–that’s awesome!!! Make sure you add Blast from the Past to your collection.

I hope you did not forget the shotguns and shells as well as some live stock like pigs and cows. >:)
MREs baby. Did you know that there are WWII K-Rations that are still edible?
That’s right, I’ll be watching Gilligan’s Island and Perry Mason while you guys are cold and starving in the dark, but you’ll have boredom and disease to keep you company.

The problem with MREs is that they are not renewable. They may last a long time but once eaten they are gone and cannot be brought back.
Also you need a gold horde to trade with the mutants that remain after the radiation finally dies down. (Assuming a REALLY bad radiation storm or the disaster is actually the wave front from the core explosion.) (Read Niven to get the reference) Personally I have a General Products #2 hull with a Puppeteer thruster engin and hyperdrive pre-installed and stocked with truly modern hand-meals. Of course my transfer booth will get me there in no time. I could not arrange stepping disks.
Dead? I’d say passed out. Cloud storage should come down in price. Maybe next year it will be 10TB for $10/month and that would be great.
And to the guy saying he’d gladly pay $60/year but never $100/year: Reality check, that’s $3.34 a month difference and still only $8.34 total a month. Less than Netflix.
