I have Plex running comskip on all of my previous recordings. Is there any way to see what shows comskip has completed? I have a fairly large recorded library (~1000 shows), but the comskip has been doing it’s thing for almost 2 weeks now… I’m starting to wonder if its just checking the same shows over and over again…
So it looks like shows that don’t detect commercials, get checked over and over again. Seems like Plex needs a hook to mark a show as checked other than if it has commercials… The comskip.ini file isn’t going to be 100% accurate, so having a show with no commercials detected should be to be expected… Is there a way to mark the 1st/last second of a show as the commercial as a ‘work around’?
This sounds like an issue I’m having where I have both recorded and ripped movies in my movie library and I’ve set the ad detection to all items. I don’t think I can set to ‘recorded only’ because I transcode to an MKV container.
If you’re doing this with a postprocessing script defined in your DVR settings then it should work if you have it set to “for recorded items”. At least it works for me (but my prostprocessing script converts to MP4 rather than MKV).
From what I’ve seen Plex runs the postprocessing script and then runs comskip on the converted file (which it still recognises as being a recorded item).
i’m also running into this after realizing the processing seems to be stuck in a loop over the same files burning CPU and disk cycles and not actually doing any work
what do you mean “hide the file”?
are there workarounds to get comskip to stop re-processing the files?
I have not found a workaround for this. It seems that the comskip will finish and not re-process the same files… until I reboot my machine. After reboot, Plex will run comskip on all shows that it did not detect commercials.
To hide the file rename it to start with a period. example=visible .example=hidden
Work around - change the TV Shows Library advanced setting for Ad detection to For recorded items and Plex dance the file. (copy file out of directory, wait for Plex to recognize it is gone, put it back)
