I’ve been seeing a new issue crop up recently:
I have a show that has two seasons, named appropriately (xxx - S01E01.mkv, xxx - S02E01 etc) and each under their own folders (Season 1, Season 2) . When I mark an episode as watched in Season 1, the equivalent episode in Season 2 is also marked as watched.
This first came to my attention when I added the second season of my show to the plex server, and it displayed all the episodes as having been watched already. When I then attempted to change the watched status of individual episodes I noticed this behaviour carrying through. This seems like a regression as I’ve never had this problem before.
I am running Plex in Docker, my plex version is 1.10.1.4602. Logs are attached.
Sorry if you’ve already solved this, I just wanted to share what I did to fix a similar problem. I had a series where the watched status in the first season would change for the third season regardless of which episode season was changed. (i.e. S01E05 would be watched so S03E05 would also be marked watched)
I ended up removing all the folders for that series from the tv show directory and allowed the server to see that the files are gone, thus removing the series from appearing in plex. I then added back each season one-by-one allowing plex to detect each before adding the next.
I then marked my actually watched episodes as played and it seems to be accurate.
