Plex mark entire series as watch after watching one episode

When i watch a single episode of a series it marks the entire series (all seasons) as watched.

When i then mark a episode as unwatched, it does it again for the whole series.
This not with all series, just random series.

Have done the basic restarts of server and applications.
also rescanned and cleaned up the library, but nothing seems to work.

its realy annoing as i now have to keep track of what i watched by myself..

anyone has seen or resolved this issue before?

Have this issue from multiple platforms. (iOs and Windows)

Have never seen this. Can you try this. Mark an entire show as unwatched. Play 1 episode from the show. Fast forward to the end and check that the marked got marked for the whole show. Upload the Plex media server log.

Hi MovieFan,

Thanks for looking into this.
I did as instructed, please find the log attached.

I have reduced the logs to the time i was testing your instructions, if more data is needed, please let me know.

Kind regards,

Labretta

Have found a work arround for the issue.

first I moved the folder containing the media to a different location.
Then i rescanned the library, followed by "clean bundles" and empty trash.
After that i re-added the folder to the library and scanned again.

Then the mark as seen option worked correctly.

Just wanted to say that 3 years later, I’m getting almost this exact same error, except as I watch an episode, it marks the season as watched. I just paused Simpsons s6e1 partway through, and Plex says I’m partway through every episode of the season.

Confirm this trouble. I have 17-th seasons of Air Crash Investigation and 16-th and 17-th seasons have this trouble. When I mark 16-th season unwatched and then mark S16E01 as watched – the whole season marks as watched. I watch half of first serie in this season and every 10 series now marked as half-watched.
PMS 1.12.1.4885-1046ba8f on the Synology.

I am see this too

This is happening to me, too. Specifically, it’s happening with Only Fools and Horses season 1.

OK, just had this problem and found my way here (via Google).

On further troubleshooting, I discovered that if I do a “Fix Match” on the series, the problem corrected itself. YMMV

Hope this helps someone!
