Plex constantly disconnects from NAS

I set up a Plex server after encountering too many problems and limitations with Sonos. I only use it for my large music collection. However, the Plex server constantly disconnects from the Seagate NAS and requires a complete rescan of all the files, which takes approx 10 hrs. This happens about every 2-3 days, even when I log out and disconnect the NAS, then reconnect and log back in.

Any suggestions as to want I am doing wrong here?
