Plex crashes on Android Auto

After installing Plex Android app on new phone (Samsung Galaxy S20FE):
Android version: 11
The Plex app on Android Auto crashes when tryin to choose any media from the library or from downloaded music. Playing on the app directly works without any issues. Additionally I can only see Recently Played, Recently Added and Downloaded items, browsing through Artists or Albums is not available at all. No error messages in the logs of the Plex server.
