I’ve just tried the meta data editor “tinyMediaManager” for the first time. There’s this option to create a Plex-compatible .nfo file for each movie as well. However, when I import the movie into my Plex library, Plex now creates a Collection for every single on of those movies I’ve run through the editor.
Why is that? Is there some data in the .nfo file which triggers this behavior? I’ve uploaded an example file:
The current Plex agents don’t read metadata from nfo files. IIRC, there’s an old metadata plugin which can be used with some of the deprecated legacy agents.
That being said, from what I remember, TMM will also write/embed metadata tags into supported files. If you enabled Plex to prefer local/embedded metadata, it’ll read those embedded tags.
If TMM writes the Album tag, Plex will interpret that as Collection.
