I think this is a bug, but it may actually be correct. I have a number of movies that have show a Movie tile and a Collection tile. Even though there is only 1 movie file, during my investigation, I opened the movie file up with MP3TAG. When I highlighted that movie, it showed every chapter was given a name like “Chapter 1”, “Chapter 2”, “Chapter 3”… etc.
I was unable to remove these as they are all internal to the single movie file and no amount of removing or adding tags would change them.
The only workaround I found was each time I found one, I open advanced settings for that single movie and select “turn off collections”. So… It seems that in a movie file like this, plex is reading the chapters tags and misinterpreting them as multiple parts of a movie collection.
If this can be resolved I think it would help everyone in the future. I downloaded these movies from YouTube and they are worth what I paid for them. Still some of them are good and I like to keep them.

What’s actually happened is that your content has been added to collections via metadata from TheMovieDB (you can turn this off by going to Settings>Agents>TheMovieDB>Uncheck “Use Collection Data from TheMovieDB”)
If you like using collections, but don’t want them in a collection as well as out in the open, you can go to the Library Settings>Manage Library>Edit>Advanced>Collections and choosing “Hide Items from Library which are in collections”
If you choose the first option, you will also need to go to the second option and do “Disabled”

If you have mp3tag open already, check the Album metatag. It should be empty for movies. Otherwise Plex will put this movie into a collection, named after the content of the Album tag.
OK. I will learn all about metatags in plex movies. I was under the impression that tags were not used much in movies, but I now see an entire new bunch of information that I was missing. Lots of homework ahead.
