There is a new movie out there about an interracial couple trying to survive the rise of androids.
The second guy on the pic was just an insignificant extra who played a brief insignificant role that lasted 30 seconds in the movie. The black guy and his girlfriend are the lead actors. People can be so deeply lost in discrimination, they intentionally moved the lead actor, who is black, away to make him look insignificant.
When the movie was over, it was the only thing we were discussing. We are a family of Black, White, and Asian. We all noticed it and disappointed.
You might want to pull back on your accusations there.
Plex doesn’t set that information, it’s pulled from metadata providers (IMDB, TheMovieDB for movies) and is determined there.
If you want to take it up with anyone, create an account on TheMovieDB and either post in the forums/report a problem or fix it yourself (if you are able to, I don’t have an account on TheMovieDB so not 100% sure how that works, especially with cast ordering).
Hey @ChuckPa I can tell you the response is going to be acquired and not from Plex VOD.
I also have this movie on my server and it’s not something that I think would be on Plex VOD at this point as I believe it is too recent.
@ shark2k is Absolutely correct. We obtain content metadata from various sources, including IMDB, TheMovieDB, TheTVDB, Gracenote and Rotten Tomatoes. The cast list and imagery you see here, as referenced above, is from TheMovieDB. TMDB is a community-driven platform and you’re welcome to edit it if you feel offended by their current presentation.
As a courtesy, I have edited the cast order on TMDB. We pick up changed daily, so you could see the changes as early as tomorrow evening if you refresh your PMS metadata.
We need to watch out for these types of things because it’s hurting a lot of people and the effect last a long time. It takes away focus on the actual movie family and friends want to enjoy.
