Plex deleted my Cover ART

Plex Media Server (PMS) does not affect your media files, except to delete them. PMS cannot prevent another program from embedding a cover or from modifying any of the metadata.

If PMS was the cause, go ahead and stop the program, no need to uninstall. That should allow you to embed the cover. If you still can’t, then it’s not PMS.

Your files are not named correctly if you want your custom artwork to show up in Plex

You have to name the poster exactly as the movie is named

21 Grams (2003).mkv

21 Grams (2003).jpeg

Or you have to name the poster from one of the examples above. “Cover, folder ect…”

OK Thanx for your help i appreciate your time

Are we talking the same thing? Embedding a cover means to include the cover inside the video file. You use a program like MkvMerge or Mp3Tag to do that. PMS would have no affect on these.

If you are trying to get PMS to automatically assign a poster for your movie library, that’s a different thing. If the cover is embedded in the file, and you’ve enabled those 2 settings, then it should use that poster. If you want it to use those jpg files, they need to be named properly as mentioned above. Or you can assign them manually by editing the movie within PMS and using the “Choose an image” or “drag and drop” feature.
