Plex Display Bug

Interested to know if anyone else is seeing stuff like this? The below 3 star review is for a completely different movie but it keeps showing in movies I haven’t watched (like The Boogeyman in this screen shot.

Edit: Color me stupid, the friend zone isn’t a movie it’s the area for reviews. That said, I still never reviewed the movie so why am I showing as a review?

Just one more pic from the main movie page

Maybe to clarify… The Friend Zone is just the hub header – not the name of a specific movie. The Friend Zone is Plex’s title to distinguish reviews/ratings of yourself and your friends (depending how each of you configured their review/rating preferences) from critic ratings (From the Critics hub).

In your screenshots it appears those are ratings of friends of yours who seem to have configured their account to share their reviews/ratings with their immediate friends or “friends of friends” (see Settings > [Account Name] > PrivacySettings > Account Visibility & Activity SharingMy Ratings & Reviews).

Good to know about “the friend zone.” But why does it show “my rating” when I’ve never rated the movie?

Is it yours, though?
I can only see the ratings by who I guess are friends of yours (unless you’re DJ or the user whose name starts with „infam“).

I am DJ and I didn’t review that movie.

It’s not every movie, but here is the same thing. A movie I never reviewed but I’m showing a review date.

I also just confirmed this isn’t just the ios app, this is happening on web portal as well for me. They all have the 3/23/2023 date as well. But if you see the movie itself it shows NO review/rating yet I see that I rated it on a date I didn’t.

Did you possibly rate the movie on your watchlist or via Plex Discover?

I did not. I have a feeling I know the issue but I don’t know a good solution and not sure why Plex social isn’t syncing back to my library. I use Kometa and at one point used my star ratings as an imdb field, so essentially it rated all my movies using the user rating field. I removed that (probably on 3/23/23) as I wanted to start rating my movies again as Plex started adding more social features. In my library all is fixed but it seems like plex social features aren’t re-syncing that information.

Ya, is there a way to clear all my ratings from plex “social” and have it re-sync? my rating feed doesn’t go far enough back to even fix the issues (not that 1 by 1 is the answer since I have probably 5k plus movies this is happening too).

You might want to check out the Delete Data > Delete Watch State & Ratings section in the related support article.

So to fully confirm, this WONT delete my local library watch state? I can choose to delete Delete Watch History AND Watch State & Ratings per the instructions, then re-enable it and it will resync? Or will I lose my local ratings and reviews? Please check your DM’s if you don’t mind to answer a specific question?

For all I know, this should only clear the online ratings/reviews/states. That being said, I’ve never tested this.

There are no local reviews.

Yes I noticed this and backed up my reviews first. This to me is a major flaw to reviews though that should be fixed, especially if Plex can’t implement a way to re-sync watch/ratings without clearing out data first. Imagine if you have 500+ reviews and need to do this? All other data is still stored but you lost all your 200-3000 word reviews you have been writing for years.
