Plex displaying old MKV title tag despite clearing bundles and cache

this option will delete all the metadata related to that title when it turns unavailable in your library. You only disable it when you want to move to a new storage location. This will prevent you from downloading everything again and losing your personalized tags. But that’s another story…

I’m not sure that enabling the Empty Trash automatically is good advice. Especially if you have media stored on an external or network drive. If you lose the connection to any of those drives temporarily, you will lose all of the personalized tags you mentioned, and all of the metadata will have to be downloaded again when the connection is restored. There may be reasons for having the setting enabled, but make sure you know there are some pitfalls once you have done that.

Actually from those first options that’s the only one I have enabled. If you disable the automatic scans, empty trash won’t be triggered, but if you forget cleaning the trash, then you start seen inconsistent data in your library.
In the end it’s a personal preference, and since I start my scans remotely using scripts, I find this one more convenient
